What a Tremendous Success for the First Women's Expo Held in Moncton Feb 11 - 13 2005.
Thank You to the thousands of women who came from all parts of the Maritimes. The booths were packed with eager, energetic women wanting to get the latest technique, advice and pampering from the exhibiting companies. The Main Stage & Workshops were well attended. Women streamed in to the Coliseum over the course of the three-days feeling very rejuvenated and pumped about the show when they left.
We have booked the same dates for next year with the Moncton Coliseum and the show will be bigger and better with many more exhibits and will be located in the front of the building not the back and the show being a 2 day instead of 3.
Many thanks to all our exhibitors who took the chance to be a part of something that is new.
Huge thank you to the New Brunswick Newspapers, Moncton Times & Transcript and the New Brunswick Telegraph Journal for a well covered event.
Hats off to C 103 and XL96.9 for such tremendous support and coverage of the show. You guys are the best!
And a very big thank you of to the City of Moncton who helped support this 1st time show.
Testimonal Letters
Hi Heather,
I just wanted to send you an email and let you know how much I enjoyed the East Coast Women's Expo at the Moncton Coliseum. There was alot of variety in the booths and you did a great job of advertising and there was a good turn out for a first time show. You and your team did a great job of organizing and running the Expo. At my booth we had a tremendous response from the ladies interested in complimentary make overs and group home spas!! One could even say the response was too big, which is a wonderful problem to have!! Thanks,

Dear Heather, Thank you for your note. The Expo was a very worthwhile event for the Canadian Cancer Society. We had wonderful exposure. Our statistics are as follows:
470 people visited our booth. 68 indicated an interest in volunteering for the Canadian Cancer Society 26 people representing a wide range of local businesses, indicated an interest in being a part of our signature fundraising and awareness event, the Relay For Life 12 new companies were added to our list of businesses to buy our daffodils this spring. Most important was the information that people received from the Canadian Cancer Society. The Expo afforded us the opportunity to get our message out. Education/Prevention_- We have the ability to avoid %50 of all cancers by changing our lifestyle. I would highly recommend the Expo to any business or non profit group. It was an opportunity for us to network with a broad base of people in our community. Thank you for inviting us to participate. I have shared this information with my colleagues around the province as well as in NS that they too may benefit from this exposure.
Let me know if there is anything else that I can do to get the word out. Heather you did a wonderful job and people obviously loved the Expo. You looked after us so well.
Sincerely,
Kathleen Soucy
Hi Heather. Are you back home in BC yet?
Congratulations on the success of your first Women's Expo in Moncton. I went Friday afternoon with my daughter and two of her friends - there certainly seemed to be a good variety of exibitors and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves.
Thanks again for the passes for Wine Women & Wellness - I hope the winners put them to use!
Does it look like you will be doing the Expo again next year here, or is it too early to say?
If you do, would you be willing to consider letting the Moncton branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association have some space?
Mental illness is one of the most common illnesses, affecting one in five people at some time in their lives. In particular, depression affects twice as many women as men, yet there is still a great deal of misunderstanding about mental health disorders such as depression. A forum such as the Women's Expo would be a very positive one in which to present information, dispell some of the myths and raise awareness. I spent some time speaking to some wonderful women exhibiting at the Expo whose work ties in directly with that of the CMHA (fitness, time management, even the spas - we women put ourselves last too often). Mental health is part of the mind-body-spirit continuim, which is what the East Coast Women's Expo addressed. Again, congratulations

The Moncton Women's Show was a total success for SeneGence and well worth the trip from Ontario. We sell long-lasting cosmetics and anti-aging skin care products. We had a busy, busy three days and had a lot of fun talking to the women in N.B. Our sales were through the roof and the re-orders from this show have been very successful. We are looking forward to attending the Halifax Women's Show in September. Hope to see you all there.
